About the Role:
We are seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join our team at Classroom Support. The successful candidate will work closely with teaching staff to provide a supportive learning environment for secondary school students with special educational needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with teachers to develop and implement individual education plans (IEPs) and behavior plans
- Provide one-on-one or small group support to students in the classroom, promoting a safe and inclusive learning environment
- Communicate effectively with students, teachers, and parents or carers to ensure a collaborative approach to supporting students with special educational needs
Qualifications and Skills:
- Experience working with secondary school students with special educational needs
- Knowledge of the secondary school curriculum and ability to adapt teaching materials to meet individual student needs
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with patience, empathy, and a passion for supporting students with special educational needs
Day-to-Day Activities:
- Work closely with teachers to support students during classroom activities
