About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Health and Safety Specialist to join our team at pladis Foods Limited. This is an exciting opportunity to work with us in supporting all aspects of Health & Safety pertaining to an ongoing project, in line with the group's systems and policies.

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing advice, guidance, and support against legal frameworks and best practices on project plans. They will also be required to provide day-to-day support for the site and current HSE team as appropriate to support the HSE agenda at site.

Key Responsibilities

  • Providing guidance and support on HSE practices
  • Providing advice and support on risk assessments and ensuring that they are completed and implemented effectively
  • Cultivating a high level of knowledge and expertise in Health & Safety matters to provide the Site Safety, Quality, Security & Environmental Manager with advice and support pertaining to project plans
  • Supporting the Drive and Delivery of continuous improvement in all aspects of the business Health & Safety management systems and standards, in line with the group's systems and policies
  • Ensuring risk assessment support, completion and advice pertaining to the project plans
  • Acting as site support for the investigation and review of significant accidents, incidents, complaints events, and the identification of solutions to prevent recurrence
  • Driving close out of issues and non-conformances, feeding into the Crisis Incident Management (CIM) process for Health & Safety issues
  • Taking an active part in site Health & Safety committees to drive the Health & Safety agenda for the site
  • Maintaining a high level of knowledge and expertise in Health & Safety matters to provide the SQSE Manager and the business with appropriate advice and support

Requirements

  • Graduate Membership of IOSH (or working towards)
  • Qualification in Environmental Management IEMA / NEBOSH
  • Degree / Diploma in relevant Health & Safety subject
  • Proven experience in a Health & Safety role
  • Significant experience in an FMCG manufacturing environment
  • Proficient knowledge of Health & Safety Law and its application

Estimated Salary: £45,000 - £55,000 per annum
