About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Health Safety Professional Lead to join our team at North West Ambulance Service NHS Trust. As a key member of our organisation, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of health and safety across our services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement effective health and safety policies, procedures, and protocols to ensure compliance with relevant regulations and legislation.
  • Conduct regular risk assessments and provide expert advice on health and safety matters to senior management and staff.
  • Maintain accurate records of health and safety incidents, near misses, and reports, providing timely and actionable insights to inform improvement initiatives.
  • Liaise with external regulatory bodies, stakeholders, and partners to promote good practice and share best-in-class health and safety strategies.
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you must have:

  • A degree-level qualification in a related field (e.g., health and safety, occupational health) or equivalent experience.
  • Extensive knowledge of UK health and safety regulations, including the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 and associated regulations.
  • Proven expertise in developing and implementing health and safety strategies, policies, and procedures.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, with a strong focus on continuous improvement.
