Facilities Maintenance Specialist

About this role
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Facilities Engineer to join our team at Energizer Holdings, Inc.
Key responsibilities
- Perform regular maintenance on plant equipment and systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical.
- Diagnose and repair equipment failures to minimize downtime.
- Maintain a preventative maintenance schedule to ensure all equipment functions optimally.
- Inspect buildings and facilities to identify any issues related to structural, electrical, plumbing, or other systems.
Facility management
- Oversee the daily operations of the facility, ensuring a clean, safe, and efficient work environment.
- Manage building systems, including security, fire alarms, and emergency preparedness.
- Coordinate with external contractors and service providers for specialized repairs and maintenance.
- Coordinate with external contractors and internal teams for repair and maintenance works.
Compliance and safety
- Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Conduct regular safety inspections and audits.
- Develop and implement safety protocols and emergency response plans.
Project management
- Plan and oversee facility improvement projects, including upgrades and expansions.
- Prepare project budgets, timelines, and progress reports.
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders and contractors to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
Energy management
- Monitor and manage the facility's energy consumption.
- Implement energy-saving initiatives to reduce operational costs and environmental impact.
Requirements
- An apprentice, time served or graduate Engineer to at least HNC level in Facilities Management, Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in facilities engineering, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Proficient in maintenance and repair of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems.
- Knowledge of regulatory compliance standards (OSHA, HSE).
- Experience with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) is a plus.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize.
- Available to work flexible hours including being part of a call out team on evenings and weekends as required.
