Job Title: Web Development and Application Specialist

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Web Development and Application Specialist to join our team at the University of Edinburgh. The successful candidate will be responsible for consulting on, designing and delivering key web applications for Childlight, a global child safety institute.

About the Role:

This is a full-time, fixed-term position until 30 April 2028. The role requires working with research teams globally to construct key Childlight projects, including the Into The Light global CSEA prevalence index. The successful candidate will also be responsible for developing and maintaining the Childlight website and intranet.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Consult on, design and deliver key web applications for Childlight
  • Work with research teams globally to construct key Childlight projects
  • Develop and maintain the Childlight website and intranet
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to establish effective relationships and manage multiple stakeholder arrangements
  • Manage and work in multi-user environments, taking responsibility for conception and delivery of ideas, improvements and value to key Childlight outputs

Requirements:

  • Demonstrable experience of web development skills and frameworks
  • Experience of delivering data visualisations in web applications
  • Strong background in SQL and JSON for database and data-driven scripting
  • Significant experience of working with multi-sector programmes and global institutions
  • Significant experience managing and working in multi-user environments
