Nursery Support Worker Opportunity

Dumfries and Galloway Council is seeking a dedicated and motivated individual to join our team as a Nursery Support Worker.

This is a part-time position requiring 20 hours of work per week, Monday to Friday from 10am to 2pm. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the educational and social needs of children aged 2-5 years old in a nursery setting.

About the Role

The ideal candidate will have a passion for working in early years education and a solid understanding of learning through play. They will be supported to inspire the learning of children in our setting and contribute to the implementation of the curriculum within our nursery class.

A relevant qualification enabling registration with the Scottish Social Service Council (SSSC) as Practitioner Day-care of Children's Services is essential for this role.

Key Responsibilities and Requirements

  1. Support the educational and social needs of children aged 2-5 years old in a nursery setting.
  2. Contribute to the implementation of the curriculum within the nursery class.
  3. Work collaboratively with staff members, colleagues, and agencies.
  4. Consult regularly with parents and carers.

Requirements: Relevant qualification, experience working with children aged 2-5 years old.

Salary: £12,862.58 per annum.

Benefits: Part-time hours, 39 weeks annual leave.
