At Mint Velvet, we are seeking a highly skilled Assistant Accessories Designer to join our creative team.
Job OverviewThe successful candidate will have a minimum of 2 years experience in a similar role and will be responsible for researching, interpreting and designing ranges that meet the high standards of Mint Velvet.
The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail and excellent communication skills, with the ability to work at pace and adapt to unforeseen change.
Key Responsibilities- Presenting ideas to the Design & Buying teams each season.
- Demonstrating a good knowledge of fabrics/hardware etc.
- Spec drawings to a high standard.
- Reviewing and fitting samples with Buyer.
- Visiting key suppliers to action new samples.
- Shopping ideas for new shapes/trims etc. and having a commercial awareness of key competitors.
To succeed in this role, you must have:
- Proven experience as an Assistant Accessories Designer, minimum 2 years in a similar role.
- Experience working in-house for a brand.
- Ability in hand drawn designs, as well as Photoshop and/or Illustrator.
- Passion for creative design, with a strong brand focus and keen commercial eye.
- Excellent communication skills and build relationships across the business with a proactive nature.
- Ability to work at pace and adapt to unforeseen change.
We offer a competitive starting salary of £**40,000** per annum, plus benefits including 25 days holiday, private health insurance and a discretionary bonus scheme.
