Mechanical Procurement Specialist

Proman Recruitment is seeking a skilled Mechanical Procurement Engineer to join their team in a dynamic project at Shutton Mill Factory.

  • Responsible for end-to-end procurement, including tendering, sourcing, and supplier/contract management.
  • Identify and implement measures to reduce Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) by analyzing necessary risks and opportunities.
  • Analyze supplier and subcontractor offers and determine the most suitable purchasing goal.
  • Negotiate with suppliers, coordinate local contracts with the Project Manager, and obtain approval from the Main Office Contracts and Procurement Departments.
  • Develop new material alternatives and assess their usability in the project with the Technical Office Department.
  • Deliver materials needed by the construction site on time, ensuring quality approval.
  • Coordinate logistics and imports with the Head Office Procurement Department.
  • Monitor the supply market, staying up-to-date with developments, trends, risks, and opportunities, and engage with existing and potential suppliers.
  • Verify warehouse activities (consumables, goods receipt, transfer).
  • Prepare procurement reports and presentations.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Procurement Experience in Mechanical & Electrical Contracting Projects.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience.
  • Preferably with knowledge of the UK Market.
  • ERP software experience - preferably SAP.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Stakeholder and supplier management.
