We are seeking an experienced Operations Manager to join our team at The People Co. in a key role that will drive operational excellence and contribute to the company's continued growth and success.

Main Responsibilities

  • Manage and direct operational activities to ensure orders are fulfilled on time and in full (OTIF).
  • Ensure compliance with transport laws and regulations, including performing shift handovers and driver debriefs.
  • Assess key performance indicators (KPIs) and take appropriate actions to ensure schedule, cost, safety, and quality goals are met.
  • Maintain a robust stock management process and conduct monthly end counts.
  • Evaluate operational performance by completing OEE, shift handover meetings, engineering projects, and 1:1s.
  • Ensure required documentation (compliance, environmental, safety, and financial) is completed and transacted correctly.
  • Understand company and site-specific policies, procedures, and other documentation, and actively train staff to ensure consistency across the site.
  • Provide leadership and commitment in support of continuing improvements in quality, productivity, and delivery performance.
  • Coordinate resources to ensure holidays are covered and the overtime budget is controlled.
  • Effectively schedule and deliver planned maintenance for the mill and vehicle fleet.
  • Develop and implement Standard Working Procedures (SWPs) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) as part of continuous site and people development.
  • Review complaints to understand root causes and share learnings.
  • Maintain collaborative cross-functional relationships, including daily operations and transport calls.
  • Ensure all UFAS, environmental, H&S, and NWF site compliance standards are maintained and adhered to, assisting with audits and corrective actions.
Requirements
  • Experience as a Production/Operations Manager within food or agriculture.
  • Experience leading and inspiring teams to achieve production schedules.
  • A background in motivating people to create a high-performance culture.
  • A proven background in achieving H&S/compliance audit scores.
  • Budget management.
  • Ability to train and coach team members.
