About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Healthcare Underwriting Specialist to join our team at Everest Advisors (UK), Ltd. This exciting opportunity is perfect for an ambitious individual looking to take their underwriting career to the next level.

The ideal candidate will have experience in underwriting healthcare-related risks and be familiar with wholesale and retail business practices. ACII qualification or significant progress towards it is highly desirable.

Key Responsibilities
  • Strategic Growth: Support the expansion of our International Healthcare Practice, focusing on General Liability, Medical Malpractice, and Employers Liability.
  • Industry Practice Plan: Participate in creating and executing the Industry Practice plan to meet Business Plan objectives.
  • Portfolio Management: Manage a portfolio of renewal business, including underwriting, pricing, and client relationships, and address new business requests.
  • Collaboration: Work with other underwriters, the actuarial team, and the claims team to develop effective pricing models and handle claims-related issues.
  • Representation: Represent Everest at meetings, including visits to brokers and clients, fostering strong relationships.
  • Compliance: Underwrite in compliance with Lloyd's and Everest standards, staying updated on changes in regulations and compliance.

Requirements
  • Underwriting experience with technical knowledge in International Healthcare.
  • Understanding of wholesale and retail business.
  • ACII qualification or significant progress towards it.
  • Strong strategic skills to analyse opportunities and threats.
  • Effective judgment and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to take calculated risks with sound underwriting judgment.
