Job Description

The Healthcare Underwriter plays a critical role in shaping our Health line of business strategy, working closely with key stakeholders to drive growth and profitability. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for co-ordinating underwriting activities, analysing data to inform strategic decisions, and developing innovative solutions to meet evolving customer needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct product/rate reviews, including changes to benefits and pricing.
  • Collaborate with the Compliance department to ensure policy wordings accurately reflect cover provided.
  • Work with the reserving team to maintain accurate IBNR and reserve calculations.
  • Demonstrate adherence to local governance principles, ensuring fair treatment of customers.
  • Support Account and Business Development teams in creating/enhancing products, prioritising customer needs.
Requirements
  • Extensive experience in Consumer lines (Health products preferred) Insurance, ideally in a similar role.
  • Strong MS Excel skills, with intermediate/advanced proficiency in PowerPoint, Word, SQL, SAS, Tableau, or Power BI.
  • Broad awareness of insurance regulation is advantageous.
  • Educated to degree level in a numerate subject (Mathematics, Statistics, Actuarial Science, Science preferred) or equivalent professional qualification.
Estimated Salary Range: £60,000 - £80,000 per annum
