We are looking for a talented individual to join our Apprentice Engineer Program as a Forklift Maintenance Technician.

Salary: £15,700 in Year 1, progressing each year to £25,000 in Year 4 (subject to satisfactory performance)

The position involves working with a variety of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems, including Materials Handling and Powered Access Equipment. You will have the opportunity to develop your skills and knowledge through on-the-job experience and internal training.

Key responsibilities:

  • Gaining on-the-job experience by shadowing your mentor and other Engineers
  • Performing tasks under supervision, then alongside qualified Engineers where your work will be checked and signed off
  • Working on customer premises and at Briggs Equipment UK workshop locations within your specified region

Requirements and skills:

  • Enthusiasm for all aspects of engineering, including mechanical, electrical, hydraulic
  • Basic knowledge of the principles of health and safety
  • Basic IT skills i.e., email, websites, text documents
  • Able to complete apprenticeship qualification tasks independently, managing and prioritising own workload, work to deadlines under pressure
  • Clear, polite and professional, verbal and written communication skills
  • Understanding of the principles of good customer service
  • Ability to follow instructions and problem solve
  • Willingness to learn, adapt and a consistent positive attitude
  • Comfortable working outdoors in inclement weather conditions
  • Comfortable completing both manual labour and administrative tasks
