Job Title: Learning Support Assistant

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Learning Support Assistant to join our team at Harris Academy Beulah Hill. As a key member of our staff, you will play a vital role in supporting the learning and development of our students.

Harris Academy Beulah Hill is a popular 11-19 academy with high expectations of all members of the school community. We strive for consistently high student performance at GCSE, progression to post-16 study at our sixth form, and success at top universities.

Job Description

The successful candidate will:

  • Supervise and support identified students in various settings, ensuring their safety and access to learning;
  • Assist in developing resources, schemes of work, and teaching strategies, collaborating with teachers to meet each student's needs;
  • Evaluate students' progress through agreed assessment activities;
  • Provide detailed feedback to teachers on students' achievement, progress, and needs;
  • Lead small group sessions and interventions as required;
  • Attend to students' personal needs when necessary;
  • Support behaviour management using appropriate strategies aligned with academy policy;
  • Contribute to creating a supportive learning environment.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Degree-level qualifications or equivalent;
  • SOME KNOWLEDGE OF STRATEGIES IN WORKING WITH YOUNG PEOPLE WITH CHALLENGING BEHAVIOURS;
  • Knowledge of social issues facing disadvantaged students;
  • Awareness of Health and Safety issues in the workplace;
  • Experience working directly with young people in an education or training environment.
Salary and Benefits

Our salary range for this position is £25,000 - £30,000 per annum, depending on experience. We offer a competitive rewards package, including a Harris Allowance for MPS/UPS teachers, a Performance and Loyalty Bonus, Pension Scheme with generous employer contributions, and more.
