We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Community Care Officer to join our team in Nottinghamshire Prisons. As a Community Care Officer, you will play a vital role in providing care and support to adults aged 18 and over who are detained within our prisons.
About the RoleThis is a specialist role that adopts a strength-based approach to fulfilling our statutory obligations under The Care Act 2014. You will work directly with the prisons and approved premises to establish a principle of equivalent care to individuals, whether that be whilst still in prison, moving on into the community or another authority.
Key Responsibilities- Provide care and support to adults aged 18 and over who are detained within our prisons
- Work directly with the prisons and approved premises to establish a principle of equivalent care
- Link and work with individuals, family/carers, health colleagues and other key partners
- Complete His Majesties Prison & Probation Service vetting and enhanced DBS
- Drive and have access to a vehicle for countywide work
You will need to have a good understanding of the relevant legal frameworks and the promotion of human rights. Experience of working with individuals with multi-disadvantage is essential, as is a good understanding of reablement and risk assessment/risk management. You will also need good communication skills and be able to work with people, family/carers, health colleagues and other key partners.
