The Role

The Systems Engineer at Endeavor is a pivotal role that demands technical expertise and innovative thinking. As a leader in broadcast systems engineering, you will be responsible for designing, building and maintaining the complex infrastructure that powers our mission-critical transmission systems. This role necessitates a profound understanding of systems engineering principles, industry best practices and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

By collaborating with diverse teams across the organization, you will ensure the high availability, scalability and robust security of our systems, guaranteeing seamless content delivery to our clients. Your ability to anticipate and address technical challenges will be essential in maintaining the highest standards of broadcast excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Administer Linux and Windows environments, including configuration, deployment and management of various systems
  • Ensure maintenance and patching across diverse Linux and Windows environments by building and maintaining an automated systems
  • Design, develop and implement complex distributed systems, ensuring seamless broadcast transmission across various platforms
  • Participate in system conceptual design and documentation, determining specifications, input/output processes and working parameters for hardware/software compatibility
  • Create and maintain detailed system documentation, standard operating procedures (SOPs) and provide specialised training and guidance
  • Lead technical systems projects from concept to deployment, meeting schedules and budget constraints
  • Mentor and collaborate with the technology teams on engineering projects, systems development and resolution of high-level technical issues
  • Proactively monitor broadcast transmission systems performance, troubleshoot complex hardware and software issues and develop advanced technical solutions
  • Develop performance and security plans for systems that meet the needs of broadcast engineering
  • Monitor and tune systems to achieve optimum performance levels and ensure data integrity through backups and archive operations

Requirements

This role requires a deep understanding of systems engineering principles, industry best practices and a proactive approach to problem-solving. To be considered for this role, you will need to have:

  • A bachelor's degree in a related field, such as computer science, engineering or a related field
  • At least 5 years of experience in broadcast systems engineering, with a focus on distributed systems and complex infrastructure
  • Proven expertise in Linux and Windows environments, including configuration, deployment and management of various systems
  • Experience with system conceptual design and documentation, determining specifications, input/output processes and working parameters for hardware/software compatibility
  • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams across the organization
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to anticipate and address technical challenges
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to provide specialised training and guidance
