About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Decontamination Technician to join our team at Ashtead Hospital, part of the Ramsay Health Care Group.

Key Responsibilities

  • To undertake decontamination duties and assist in providing a specialized decontamination of medical devices service contributing to the clinical care of the patient.
  • To carry out the receipt, disassembly, cleaning, reassembly, packing, and sterilization of reusable medical devices. Record all tasks in the Healthcare Science Information Systems (tracking and tracing) database.
  • To work in accordance with the Department's Standard Operating Procedures and Quality Management Systems.
  • To provide supervision to Apprentice/Trainee Decontamination Technicians within the team.
  • To plan your own workload with limited supervision.
  • To plan and coordinate the activity of a shift as required in the absence of the Decontamination Technician Supervisor.

About You

  • You will have experience as a Decontamination Technician within a healthcare setting.
  • You will possess sound written and verbal communication skills.
  • You will have proven ability to work effectively in a team environment and independently as required.
  • You will have good computer skills (MS Office package).
  • You will be flexible and adaptable.
  • You will have demonstrated customer service skills.
  • You will be flexible to work shifts.
