About the Role

We are seeking an experienced NDT Inspector to join our team as a Contractor within our Pipeline Group. The successful candidate will be based at our facility in Old Kilpatrick, Glasgow, and will be responsible for carrying out inspections in the Global Weld Development Centre (GWDC) and coordinating inspection activities as required.

Key Responsibilities
  • Implement and coordinate NDT inspections, including the use of advanced technologies such as AUT and ToFD.
  • Carry out inspections on the shop floor as required, ensuring the highest level of quality and accuracy.
  • Produce and interpret scans, using industry-leading software and equipment.
  • Prepare reports using our Company reporting system, highlighting key findings and recommendations.
  • Coordinate day-to-day requirements for inspection, including WPQT, AUTV, R&D of seeded defects, and welder testing with GWDC staff and subcontractors as required.
  • Interface with NDT subcontractors to ensure that all examinations are completed in a timely manner.
  • Review and approve reports by NDT subcontractors, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Supervise NDT inspections carried out by Level 1 and 2 NDT Inspectors, providing guidance and support as needed.
  • Assist in the AUT Validation process for project work, ensuring the highest level of quality and accuracy.
  • Support NDT developments and assist with practical aspects of procedure development for new techniques.
  • Support the upkeep, maintenance, and compliance of NDT equipment and RT enclosures.
Requirements
  • PCN Level 2: UT, RT, MT, PT, ToFD, PAUT
  • Experience in Pipeline Girthweld inspection using AUT preferred.
