About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Speech and Language Therapist to join our team at Cardiff and Vale University Health Board. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for providing specialist assessment, diagnosis, and intervention to adults with communication and swallowing difficulties associated with a wide range of acquired conditions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage an independent, complex caseload, providing specialist assessment, diagnosis, and intervention to adults with communication and swallowing difficulties.
  • Work as part of the multi-disciplinary team, liaising with other agencies and disciplines within the health and social care sector to promote the independence of clients living at home and within care settings.
  • Participate in service development projects, including complex audits, and provide clinical support to more junior Speech and Language Therapy staff.
  • Supervise and provide clinical support to more junior Speech and Language Therapy staff and provide clinical placements for undergraduate SLT students.

Requirements
  • Speech & Language Therapy Degree
  • HCPC Registration
  • Membership of the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists (desirable)
  • Post-graduate experience of working with a wide range of acquired swallowing and communication difficulties (essential)
  • Experience of working in stroke (desirable)
