OverviewBallycommon is seeking a skilled and experienced CPCS A73 Vehicle Banksman with a valid Thames Water Passport to ensure the safe and efficient movement of vehicles and heavy equipment around our work sites.
This role is crucial in maintaining a safe working environment, particularly near sensitive utilities and services.
Key Responsibilities:- Direct and guide heavy construction equipment, delivery vehicles, and other site traffic safely.
- Use effective communication methods, including hand signals and radio communication, to guide vehicle operators.
- Monitor and ensure that all vehicles are maneuvered and parked safely, minimizing risk to personnel and property.
- Maintain a strong awareness of surroundings, identifying and addressing potential hazards.
- Collaborate with site supervisors and other team members to ensure smooth site operations.
- CPCS A73 Certification: Valid CPCS Vehicle Banksman (A73) certification is essential.
- Thames Water Passport: A valid Thames Water Passport is required.
- Experience: Proven experience as a Vehicle Banksman in a construction or utilities environment.
- Communication Skills: Ability to give clear, concise hand signals and communicate effectively with operators.
- Safety Knowledge: Strong understanding of health and safety regulations, with the ability to enforce them.
- Team Player: Ability to collaborate effectively with other site staff and supervisors.
- Conduct regular safety checks and risk assessments of the work area.
- Ensure vehicles are guided safely through high-risk zones and sensitive utility areas.
- Communicate clearly with vehicle operators, using hand signals or radios, to maintain safe vehicle movements.
- Collaborate with site supervisors to manage the flow of traffic and avoid delays.
- Keep detailed records of vehicle movements and any incidents, ensuring that safety is always the priority.
