Senior Clinical Fellow in PCC Medicine

Job Overview
As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of bed management across children's services. Your primary responsibility will be to act as a central point for all enquiries relating to bed management, providing expert guidance and support to clinicians and other stakeholders.
Main Duties
• Act as a central point for all enquiries relating to bed management across children's services
• Ensure that the child and family's experience of hospital is as smooth as possible by facilitating patient flow throughout Children's Services for both elective and emergency admissions.
• Ensure that emergency, elective and tertiary referrals are given equal consideration, working with clinicians to decide on priorities when beds are at a premium.
• Work closely with the Elective Access Team to ensure the best use is made of all available resources
• Ensure effective use of the beds across the Children's Hospital, PICU, PHDU and the Neonatal Unit.
• Assist with discharge activity working closely with nursing and medical staff.
• Use the electronic whiteboard to maintain hr access targets.
• Provide direction to and support for clinical staff on a day to day basis in any matters relating to bed management repatriation and transportation
• To co-ordinate, on behalf the Directorate, private patient admissions with Clinical Colleagues/Teams, Elective Access Team and Trust Private Patient Team.
• To ensure the identification of overseas visitors and recovery of associated income.
