Job Overview

We invite applications for Clinical Fellow posts in the Critical Care department at King's College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. The successful candidate will gain experience working in a large tertiary Critical Care department under the mentorship of consultants with various sub-specialist interests.

Assigned to one of our seven Critical Care units, you will work as part of a team of resident doctors, responsible for the day-to-day management of patients under the supervision of a consultant intensivist. Each unit is supported by senior clinical fellows and advanced critical care practitioners, as well as the on-call consultant.

Main Duties of the Job

  • Assisting in the day-to-day management of inpatients
  • Attending consultant ward rounds
  • Attending clinical meetings
  • Liaising with the critical care team and documenting findings and plans in the critical care admissions documentation

Strategy and Planning

  • Participating in clinical and service activities to ensure high standards of patient care
  • Providing high standards of care to patients for whom you have clinical responsibility
  • Completing e-discharge summaries promptly

Education and Training

  • Complying with the General Medical Council's 'Good Medical Practice' guide
  • Teaching medical students as directed
