Design Management Role

As a Design Management Specialist, you will be responsible for overseeing the design process of infrastructure projects. This includes managing design teams, coordinating design input and review, and ensuring that designs are safe, efficient, and compliant with standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead on undertaking or liaising with the Principal Designer organisational role
  • Act as the Service Manager for the NEC4 Professional Service Contract with Consultants
  • Support the Project Lead with design matters in the NEC4 Engineering & Construction Contract
  • Develop and operate Design Management Plans, BIM Execution Plans, and associated documents
  • Coordinate and develop design and survey scopes and change instructions
  • Coordinate input to and review of design with stakeholders

Requirements:

  • Ability to apply appropriate theoretical and practical methods to manage the design of infrastructure
  • Ability to provide technical and commercial management
  • Degree in Civil Engineering or a related field
  • Graduate Member of the Institution of Civil Engineers with demonstrated progression in their Initial Professional Development
  • Previous experience as both a Site Engineer and as a Design Manager, Design Coordinator, or Design Engineer
