Study Skills Mentor Opportunity

Randstad Student Support is seeking an experienced Study Skills Mentor to provide personalized learning support to students with specific learning difficulties (SpLDs) in Glasgow.

This hybrid role requires flexibility for both in-person and online sessions, tailored to student preferences. As a Study Skills Mentor, you will develop individual learning plans to foster independence, build on strengths and effective learning strategies, enhance organization and time management skills, create action plans to stay on track, and improve research and comprehension skills.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing and implementing individualized learning plans to support students' academic success
  • Providing one-on-one support to students with specific learning difficulties, including dyslexia, dyscalculia, and ADHD
  • Collaborating with students, teachers, and other support staff to ensure a comprehensive support network
  • Assessing students' learning needs and developing strategies to address these needs
  • Monitoring students' progress and adjusting support plans as needed

Desirable skills and qualifications include:

  • Experience working with students with specific learning difficulties
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to identify and address students' learning strengths and challenges
  • Punctuality and reliability
  • Good organizational skills
  • Relevant professional body memberships
