**Job Description**
This is an exciting opportunity to join our dedicated team as a Residential Childcare Worker. As part of this role, you will work directly with young people who require our care and support.
You will be responsible for promoting good relationships and encouraging achievements among the young people in our care.
Key responsibilities include:
- Working in a positive, respectful, and empowering way with all young people
- Meeting the social, emotional, and educational health and mental health needs of young people
- Encouraging participation in domestic tasks to develop self-care skills
- Writing review reports, risk assessments, and contributing to care plans
- Liaising with parents and partner agencies to ensure the best interests of the young people are respected and promoted
**Requirements**
To succeed in this role, you will ideally have:
- A good understanding of the developmental needs and milestones of young people
- Experience of working with children and families
- A driving licence
- The ability to communicate, engage, and form positive relationships with young people, parent/carers, and other professionals
- The ability to produce clear and concise written reports and records of good standard and verbally present information and views
- The ability to challenge individuals where necessary, remain calm and objective in difficult situations
- An HNC in Social Care, SVQ level 3 in Care, or equivalent qualification
**Location**
Our home is a five-bedroom house set in a rural location in East Lothian, offering a therapeutic and peaceful environment for the young people in our care.
