About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Care Unit Manager to lead our team in delivering exceptional care to our residents. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the unit, ensuring the highest standards of care and service are maintained.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leadership and Supervision
    • Lead and supervise a team of care staff to ensure the delivery of high-quality care and services.
    • Develop and implement effective strategies to improve team performance and engagement.
  • Care Planning and Delivery
    • Work closely with residents, families, and healthcare professionals to develop and implement personalized care plans.
    • Ensure that care plans are regularly reviewed and updated to reflect changing needs and preferences.
  • Medication Administration and Risk Management
    • Administer medication to residents in accordance with their care plans and medication charts.
    • Conduct regular risk assessments to identify potential hazards and implement measures to mitigate risks.
  • Communication and Collaboration
    • Develop and maintain effective relationships with residents, families, and healthcare professionals to ensure seamless communication and collaboration.
    • Participate in multidisciplinary meetings to discuss resident care and develop strategies to improve outcomes.

Requirements

  • Qualifications and Experience
    • NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care or equivalent.
    • Proven experience in a care leadership role, preferably in a care home setting.
  • Skills and Abilities
    • Excellent leadership and communication skills.
    • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
    • Strong organizational and time management skills.
    • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
