The Role

We are seeking a skilled Cleaning Operative to join our team at Childer Thornton School, Ellesmere Port. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and hygiene of designated areas within the school premises.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Cleaning, washing, sweeping, vacuum cleaning, emptying of litter bins, polishing and dusting of designated areas, including toilets and shower areas.
  • Movement of items of furniture.
  • Relieving and assisting in other establishments as required.
  • Attending to accidents, fires, loss, theft, lost property, damage, unfit food, or other irregularities, and completing necessary reports.
  • Attending meetings as requested.
  • Duties may vary between term and closure periods.
  • Pursuing personal development of skills and knowledge necessary for effective performance of the role.
  • Carrying out any other reasonable tasks as required to enable the company to remain adaptable to changing markets and needs.
  • Complying with Company rules, policies, and procedures at all times.

The ideal candidate will have experience as a cleaner with associated Health and Safety training, excellent customer service skills, and a willingness to work as part of a team.

The role is subject to a satisfactory enhanced DBS check. Hours of work are Monday to Friday, 12.5 hours per week, 3pm - 5.30pm, term time only, with deep cleaning over some weeks in school holidays.
