Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Radiology Consultant to join our team at the Royal Cornwall Hospitals NHS Trust. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in gynaecology radiology and be able to contribute to the provision of high-quality imaging services to patients.

About the Role

This is a challenging and rewarding opportunity for a highly skilled Radiology Consultant to work within our dynamic team. As a member of our department, you will be responsible for providing expert advice on imaging procedures and interpreting images to support patient care.

The successful applicant will be a General Radiologist with extensive experience in paediatric and/or gynaecology radiology. If newly appointed, they will be eligible to apply for additional study leave to undertake up to 3 months subspecialty radiology training.

Main Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality diagnostic imaging services to patients, including routine and emergency cases.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of imaging protocols and guidelines.
  • Participate in the on-call rota, including weekend working and participation in the Consultant on-call service.
  • Cover for colleagues' annual leave and other authorized absences.
  • Professional supervision and management of junior medical staff.
  • Contribution to undergraduate, postgraduate and continuing medical education activity.
  • Participation in medical audit, the Trust's Clinical Governance processes and in CPD.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Entry in the GMC Specialist Register in Clinical Radiology or eligible for such an entry on the Register, or within six months of receipt of Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) or equivalent at time of interview.

Prior experience in subspecialty radiology is essential, while post CCT subspecialty training is desirable. You must also be able to teach clinical skills and the radiology curriculum to radiology registrars.
