Exciting Opportunity for SEN Teaching Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team at a Good rated SEN secondary school in the Preston area. This is a long-term position starting as soon as possible, with a daily rate ranging from £88 per day.

The successful candidate will have experience working with pupils who have Special Educational Needs, including MLD, SLD, ASD, sensory impairments, and physical disabilities. They should be able to support pupils with their learning and personal care requirements, promote independence and inclusion within the school community, and collaborate with the teaching team to create engaging and inclusive lessons.

About the Role
  • This is a temporary to permanent (temp to perm) position with a permanent position available in 2025 for the right candidate.
  • You will be paid directly via PAYE through our in-house payroll team without the need for a third-party umbrella company.
Your Responsibilities
  • Assist with implementing individual education plans tailored to each pupil's needs.
  • Support pupils with their learning and personal care requirements.
  • Promote independence and inclusion within the school community.
  • Collaborate with the teaching team to create engaging and inclusive lessons.
  • Monitor and record pupil progress regularly.
Requirements
  • You must have experience working with pupils who have Special Educational Needs.
  • You should have a strong understanding of the individual needs associated with MLD, SLD, ASD, sensory impairments, and physical disabilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
  • You will need patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting children's development.
  • You must hold an Enhanced DBS Disclosure, Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable), and professional reference checks.
  • Your CV should cover your last 10 years of employment history where possible.
  • You must have a legal right to work in the UK.
Estimated Salary: £30,000 - £40,000 per annum
