Senior Town Planner Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Town Planner to join our development team in Hampshire, UK. As the successful candidate, you will be responsible for managing successful planning applications and contributing to the growth of our regional housebuilding business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage planning applications from inception to completion.
  • Compile comprehensive documentation for planning applications, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Conduct thorough research on previous planning application sites, identifying potential areas for improvement.
  • Attend committee meetings, effectively communicating with stakeholders and presenting planning proposals.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of planning applications, documents, and correspondence.
  • Stay abreast of local planning policies, ensuring compliance and identifying opportunities for innovation.
  • Manage external consultants, such as engineers, to support planning applications and ensure timely delivery.

Requirements:

  • Ideal 2+ years' experience as a Town Planner, with a strong understanding of local planning policies.
  • A relevant degree in Planning or a related field.
  • Excellent knowledge of the local area, including its history, culture, and development trends.
  • Proven experience of speaking at planning committees, confidently presenting planning proposals.
