Urban Development Specialist

Penguin Recruitment is seeking a skilled Town Planner to join their team in Kent. Our client, an RIBA Chartered Architectural Practice, specialises in traditional vernacular architecture and natural materials such as timber, clay, and stone. They focus on delivering high-quality, locally sourced designs.
About the Role
This is an excellent opportunity to work on a variety of interesting projects within a supportive, creative environment. As a Town Planner, you will assist in preparing and submitting planning applications and related documentation. You will conduct site appraisals and research planning policies, liaise with local authorities, clients, and contractors, and support the senior team in managing planning processes for diverse architectural projects.

Requirements
The ideal candidate will have a degree in Town Planning or a related discipline accredited by the Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI). Some relevant experience in planning, ideally in a design or architectural context, is required. Strong communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills are essential. An interest in working on projects with a focus on traditional architecture and local materials is also desirable.
