Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Care Worker to join our team at Derbyshire County Council. As a Care Worker, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality care and support to our clients, promoting their independence and well-being.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver a range of tasks to clients over a 24-hour period, 7 days a week, to promote and maintain their independence.
  • Work on a three-shift rota system, including early mornings, afternoons, and waking nights, with enhanced rates of pay for hours worked after 7pm and before 7am.
  • Undertake daily tasks, including personal care, dressing, undressing, meal preparation, administering medication, monitoring health and wellbeing, and supporting clients to access communal areas.
  • Work alongside healthcare professionals, Together Housing team, families, and colleagues, demonstrating the ability to work on your own initiative and contribute to the team.
  • Respond to unplanned emergencies and report to the DSO, following the care support plan and completed risk assessments to maintain health and safety for clients and colleagues.

Requirements:

  • No previous experience is necessary, as we will provide all the training and support you need to complete the role.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
