Job Description

This is an exciting opportunity to join UK Power Networks as a skilled Electrical Network Technician.

As part of our team, you will be responsible for maintaining plant and equipment at various substations on the electrical distribution network, up to and including the 132kV system.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain electrical plant and equipment from the low voltage network up to and including the 132kV network
  • Perform risk assessments and maintain safe working practices
  • Operate hand-held IT equipment to receive job instructions and record asset data information
  • Undertake substation inspections and report hazards and defects
  • Ensure quality of works meets with current procedures

You will work as part of a team of fitters that report to a Field Staff Supervisor and have the support of experienced Field Engineers.

Requirements
  • Hold a current driving license
  • Hold or be working towards a City & Guilds 2339 (formally 232) certificate in Electrical Power Distribution
  • Have experience of working on regional electricity networks
