Agriculture Underwriter Role

We are seeking a skilled Agriculture Underwriter to join our team at Ardonagh Advisory. This role offers the flexibility of being home based with occasional travel to our office for team meetings and initial induction. As an Agriculture Underwriter, you will be responsible for driving the acquisition and retention of profitable business in line with company underwriting strategies and business plans across the portfolio range of Geo Agriculture products.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Initiate and develop new underwriting opportunities across relationships and products.
  • Demonstrate strong technical capability, and trading and negotiating skills in the attainment of retaining and acquiring business.
  • Develop and maintain key account underwriting relationships.
  • Maintain a working knowledge and trading ability across all relevant Geo Agriculture binders.
  • Underwrite / take underwriting lead on complex risks.
  • Support product administration and development.
  • In collaboration with the technical team, develop new underwriting opportunities across products.
  • Acquire and retain profitable target business.
  • Achieve key team and individual targets assigned.

Requirements:

  • Cert CII essential. DIP CII/ ACII preferred.
  • Advanced level of specialist market and specialist product knowledge.
  • Proven, effective training style (Train the trainer essential).
  • Proven ability to write profitable business in the Agriculture specialist market.
  • A working knowledge of the legal and regulatory insurance framework.
  • Exceptionally strong decision-making confidence and ability.
  • Ability to communicate effectively at all levels with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Highly organised with a focus on individual and business objectives, priorities and deliverables.
