Mental Health Consultant in a Dynamic Young Person's Service

The Cumbria, Northumberland, Tyne and Wear NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a skilled consultant psychiatrist to join their young person’s crisis team and psychiatry liaison team for young people at the Great North Children's hospital.
We are looking for an enthusiastic applicant who will enjoy shaping a newly commissioned service and working in one of the most prestigious children's hospitals in the country. The successful candidate will bring expertise and leadership to our well-established young people's crisis team.
The role requires flexibility so that the needs of young people in mental health crises can be responded to appropriately whether in the community or the hospital setting. This includes working with the multi-disciplinary team to discuss patients' needs and jointly plan the day according to priority and clinical risk.
The consultant will need to think flexibly and often on their feet as plans may change if more urgent referrals come in. As a leadership and teaching role, it is essential that the candidate is passionate about service development and sharing their expertise in both formal and informal ways.
