Job Description: Harrison Scott Associates is seeking an experienced Control Systems Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in instrumentation and controls, with excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

About the Role:
In this exciting role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, repairing, and modifying various control systems and instrumentation equipment to ensure optimised and continuous production. This will involve carrying out planned preventative, remedial, and breakdown maintenance in accordance with the Site's CMMS system. You will also be required to fast and efficiently diagnose faults on all control-related equipment to maximise machinery utilisation and minimise manufacturing losses.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Carry out hardware maintenance and diagnostics on Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) and Distributed Control Systems (DCS).
  • Respond to breakdowns in a timely manner and apply effective fault-finding and investigation techniques.
  • Work with the Reliability Department to carry out Root Cause Analysis to improve equipment reliability.
  • Modify existing equipment to improve system performance, effectiveness, and functionality.
  • Supervise and train apprentices, graduate trainees, or other individuals under instruction.


Requirements:

A time-served recognised apprenticeship in Instrumentation Engineering is required. ONC or BTEC National Cert in Instrumentation or Controls Engineering is also essential. Previous experience of fault finding and diagnostics on various controls and instruments is necessary.



Benefits: Includes pension and 34 days' holiday. Estimated salary: £45,000 - £55,000 per annum.
