Hampshire County Council, through its managed service agency Connect2Hampshire, is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Social Worker to fill the position of Independent Review Officer (IRO). This role is based in the North Hampshire/Berkshire area and is a fantastic opportunity for a dedicated professional to make a meaningful impact in the lives of separated and refugee children and young people in care.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct statutory reviews for separated and refugee children and young people in care, ensuring that their rights and needs are prioritized and met.
- Collaborate with Children's Services colleagues and partner agencies to promote high standards in review processes for UASC and refugee young people in care.
- Develop and maintain a sound knowledge of Care Planning and Reviewing regulations, as well as the IRO handbook, to ensure compliance and best practice.
- Attend 'Child Looked After' (CLA) reviews across Hampshire, providing expert guidance and support as needed.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in social work, with a strong background in child protection and care.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with children, young people, and their families.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and make informed decisions.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple responsibilities.
- A competitive hourly rate of £45.
