About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Occupational Therapist to join our Stroke and Neuro Therapy Team at University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust. The successful candidate will have a minimum of 12-18 months experience in Stroke and Neurological Occupational Therapy and will be looking to progress to a Specialist Band 6 role.

The ideal candidate will have a strong clinical background in acute hospital experience, particularly in older people's medicine, frail elderly, neurology, and T&O. They will also have experience of team/service development, supporting and supervising junior therapists, students, and assistants, as well as a specialist knowledge across a range of therapy practices.

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing a specialist Occupational Therapy Neurological rehab service across the pathway, ranging from in-patient Stroke and Neuro rehab to Early Supported Discharge and out-patient rehabilitation. They will work as part of a large, friendly, dynamic, and forward-thinking rotation across sites to deliver specialist, client-centred rehabilitation for a range of patients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide a high standard occupational therapy service across the stroke and neuro service.
  • Use specialist technical skills to assist in the assessment and treatment of own caseload stroke and Neurological patients.
  • Contribute to seven-day working programmes across the organisation.
