About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Learning Support Assistant to join our SEN team at a Secondary School in Southport. The successful candidate will work closely with students who have a range of special educational needs, including autism, dyslexia, ADHD, and emotional and behavioural difficulties.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide 1:1 and classroom support to students with complex needs, helping them to access the curriculum and develop their skills and confidence.
  • Work closely with the SENCO and other staff to implement individual education plans and monitor progress.
  • Support students with a variety of complex needs, including ASD, non-verbal, downs syndrome, PDA, and GLD.
Requirements
  • A minimum of Level 2 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning or equivalent.
  • Experience of working with SEN students in a secondary school setting.
  • Knowledge of the SEN Code of Practice and relevant strategies and interventions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A positive and flexible attitude.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
