This role offers a unique opportunity to work in a pioneering service that addresses the complex needs of women experiencing perinatal trauma and loss. As a Specialist Mental Health Midwife, you will be part of a multidisciplinary team that provides integrated maternity, reproductive health, and psychological therapy.

You will work closely with a Principal Clinical Psychologist and other healthcare professionals to deliver therapeutic interventions and groups to women who have experienced perinatal trauma and loss. Your key responsibilities will include assessing and responding to mental health and safeguarding risk, providing training and support to maternity services, and promoting the integration of services to improve the experience of women with severe mental health difficulties.

Main duties of the job

  • To deliver mental health assessments with a focus on perinatal loss and trauma.
  • To develop and implement birth plans alongside maternity care.
  • To provide support and guidance to families of women experiencing significant mental illness.

Estimated salary: £43,000-£50,000 per annum (dependent on experience), plus benefits.
