About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Executive Chef to join our team at Anchor, a leading provider of care and housing for older people. As an Executive Chef, you will be responsible for managing every aspect of catering within our location, delivering a high-quality catering service that meets the needs of our residents.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the catering team and lead by example, ensuring that all staff are trained and equipped to provide excellent service.
  • Develop and implement menus that cater to the dietary needs of our residents, ensuring that all meals are nutritious and delicious.
  • Maintain compliance with food hygiene and health and safety standards, ensuring that our kitchen is a safe and healthy environment for our staff and residents.
  • Control kitchen stock, equipment, and resources within budget, ensuring that we are operating efficiently and effectively.

Requirements

  • Intermediate or level 3 food hygiene certificate with Catercraft or similar award.
  • Health and safety procedures, including control of substances harmful to health (COSHH) and food safety standards.
  • Proven chef and people management experience, with a track record of delivering high-quality results.
  • Basic knowledge of dietary requirements for older people and the impact of food types on medication.
  • Safe use of kitchen equipment, including knives.

Desirable Skills

  • Able to negotiate, influence, organize time, and prioritize activities.
  • Able to work in a pressured environment and produce meals based on implemented menus.
  • Flexible, innovative, and able to work as part of a team and individually.
  • Basic computer knowledge.
