About the Role

We're seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sous Chef to join our team at Lounge. As a key member of our kitchen team, you'll be responsible for supporting the Head Chef in delivering exceptional food quality and service standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and engage the kitchen team to deliver high-quality food and excellent service standards.
  • Assist the Head Chef in menu planning, food preparation, and presentation.
  • Ensure the kitchen runs efficiently and safely, maintaining high standards of hygiene and food safety.
  • Manage stock levels, labor, and sales forecasts to optimize kitchen performance.
  • Develop and implement training programs for kitchen staff, including apprentices and junior chefs.

Requirements
  • Proven experience as a Sous Chef or Junior Sous Chef/Assistant Kitchen Manager.
  • Excellent chef/kitchen skills, including food preparation, hot and cold, cleaning, knife skills, and good hygiene practices.
  • Strong work ethic, with the ability to lead from the front and play an active role in delivering excellent kitchen and food standards.
  • Extremely driven and relentless in deconstructing the can't mentality.
  • Familiar with KPIs and making decisions in the absence of the Head Chef, considering labor, stock, food safety requirements, and others.
  • Epic communication skills, with the ability to manage stakeholders and build rapport and trust.
  • Strong knowledge of best practice around rota scheduling, sales and labor forecasts, reporting, recruitment, HR, and training.
