As a Trade Settlement Assistant at the Bank of China, you will play a crucial role in the Operations Services department, providing processing support for trade finance, loan, and cash management products. Your responsibilities will include administering the delivery of all functions within the Trade Services function, primarily processing documents, negotiations, payments, and basic export letters of credit.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process daily tasks, including letters of credit, documentary collections, and guarantees, both import and export, and financing, including negotiations, discounts, loans, and risk sale and purchase.
  • Assist in handling ancillary tasks, including post, courier, filing, SWIFT messages, archiving, and other daily processes.
  • Assist with customer queries and provide information requested for monthly, quarterly, and half-yearly statistics for the department and Head Office.
  • Ensure all transactions are processed within the timeframe and comply with regulations, such as UCP, ISBP, and URDG.
  • Provide assistance and advice to customers in relation to trade services products and assist local and overseas branches with any queries when required.
  • Provide assistance and guidance to colleagues and comply with departmental procedure manual and Bank-wide policies.

Requirements:

  • Degree educated in Business, Finance, Accounting, or other equivalent.
  • Relevant professional qualification.
  • Experience in the Financial Services industry and proven track record in similar business areas.
  • Solid Trade Finance product knowledge.
  • Knowledge of Syndicated Loan and Bilateral Products.
  • A good understanding of Financial Crime and Anti-Money Laundering prevention.
  • A good understanding of International Sanctions.
  • Good numeracy skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly in the use of MS Excel.
  • Able to work with the highest level of accuracy.
  • Team player.
  • Excellent communication skills.
