About the Substance Misuse Healthcare Assistant Role

We have an exciting opportunity for a Healthcare Assistant to join the team at HMP Winchester, a Category B male prison. As a Substance Misuse Healthcare Assistant, you will be working closely with patients, nurses, and medication to deliver outstanding care.

This is a crucial role within the healthcare team, making a real difference to patients' lives. HMP Winchester is a remand prison with a capacity of around 650. You will be working 4 shifts on a rota basis, with shifts from 07:30 to 18:00 Monday to Sunday.

You will receive an annual salary up to £29,085 per annum, depending on experience. We offer a bespoke induction, including our Introducing Health in Justice training course, as well as competency framework and regional and national career development opportunities.

Candidates are required to have a Legal right to work in the UK and due to the nature of the role, offers of employment will be subject to additional vetting and security checks.
