Job Summary:

Activus Recruitment is seeking an experienced Fleet Maintenance Technician to join our client's expanding team in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

Job Purpose:

The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out the safe and efficient repairs and maintenance of HGV and LGV vehicles within workshops and off-site environments.

Main Responsibilities:

  1. Perform routine servicing, fault diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance of HGV, LGV vehicles, trailers, and powder tankers within workshops and off-site environments.
  2. Ensure all works are carried out under the cover of risk assessments, method statements, and permit-to-work procedures.
  3. Verify that all tools and equipment used for carrying out repairs and maintenance are checked, fit for purpose, and certified where necessary.
  4. Conduct daily checks on plant and equipment, such as forklifts, MEWP's, lifting ramps, and lifting accessories, and complete the relevant check sheets.
  5. Report any plant and equipment defects to the Site Manager or Fleet Manager.
  6. Utilize personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times for any given task.
  7. When working off-site, particularly in quarry environments, ensure a site-specific induction is provided and safety rules are fully understood.
  8. Maintain a clean and organized workspace, including workshops, stores, and off-site environments, with all waste disposed of in the correct manner.
  9. Complete job sheets, inspection reports, timesheets, and other department-related documentation accurately and on time.
  10. Adhere to safe systems of work as outlined in the Health and Safety Policy, IMS, and Safety at Work Legislation.
  11. Attend meetings and training courses as directed by the Site Manager or Fleet Manager.
  12. Provide training and guidance to other members of staff as required.
  13. Act as an ambassador for the company, ensuring visitors, customers, and staff are communicated with in a polite and courteous manner.

Requirements:

This is a full-time, permanent role with a competitive salary of £18 circa.
