A career-defining opportunity has arisen for a highly skilled Compliance Regulatory Specialist to join the American Express Services Europe Limited team in Brighton, United Kingdom.

As a key member of our regulatory affairs team, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations, including those governing the UK Retail Banking/Payments industry.

Your primary responsibility will be to support the Director for Regulatory Affairs and Testing in the production and maintenance of internal reports, as well as assist in the management of regulatory change initiatives.

You will work closely with stakeholders across the business to discuss changes and implement them where appropriate, providing valuable insights and reporting to the Director Regulatory Affairs and Testing on regulatory concepts and findings.

To succeed in this role, you will require a working knowledge of applicable laws, regulations, and company policies, as well as experience working in a compliance or risk function at a financial services firm, consultancy, or regulator.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Taking ownership of BAU regulatory reporting and assisting in the delivery of ad-hoc information requests
  • Working closely with the Director and Senior Manager, Regulatory Affairs to respond appropriately to regulators (FCA, PSR, ICO) and other stakeholders
  • Assisting in horizon scanning activities and supporting the Business in the analysis of regulatory concepts
  • Regulatory Change – supporting horizon scanning activities and implementing changes where appropriate
  • Assisting in producing and maintaining relevant compliance policies and procedures
