They will be responsible for managing the PD and production team, overseeing all aspects of operations, including raw material sourcing, product development, production, and on-time deliveries.
About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Product Development and Production Manager to join our team in Edinburgh. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of product development and production processes, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the PD and production team, overseeing all aspects of operations, including raw material sourcing, product development, production, and on-time deliveries.
- Supervise the product development, sourcing, and production process from sketch to delivery across multiple overseas suppliers.
- Closely collaborate with the design team to ensure the design vision is well-executed, at a high standard, and key dates are met.
- Liaise with merchandising, ecommerce, wholesale, and marketing teams to update status and meet deadlines.
- Contribute to and lead on sourcing and supplier strategy.
- Proactively address PD and production issues and support the team to resolve them.
- Understand supplier capabilities, material, and production challenges, and support in finding solutions.
- Oversee the end-to-end production process, ensuring adherence to the critical path, while delivering exceptional quality.
- Monitor department KPIs against the plan, ensuring we achieve our goals.
- Continually source new suppliers for improved innovation, quality, price, and delivery.
- Build strong relationships with suppliers globally.
- Strive to extend product life, supporting the brand to become market leaders in product longevity.
- Stay abreast of emerging technologies and sustainable practices, integrating them into our sourcing and production strategies to drive innovation and social responsibility.
About You
We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced individual with a strong background in product development and production. The ideal candidate will have significant experience (10 years+) in a similar role, with experience of managing small teams. They will be able to adapt well to change, and be experienced working in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment.
The successful candidate will be highly organised, able to juggle competing priorities, with fantastic attention to detail. They will have strong negotiation and influencing skills, and be highly motivated and driven for success.
