Development Underwriter

Stride Resource Management Ltd is seeking a talented Development Underwriter to drive growth and innovation in the Birmingham market. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing your own diary and caseload, trading a set of niche and specialty lines business, and forging robust relationships with key brokers to secure new business.
Key Responsibilities:- Underwrite business and make astute commercial decisions
- Manage your own diary and caseload, supported by a thriving team
- Forge robust relationships with a select panel of key brokers to secure new business
- Empowerment to underwrite business and make commercial decisions
- Active participation in the Birmingham insurance market, leading by face-to-face broker interactions
- Demonstrable experience in underwriting, with a keen interest in specialty commercial lines
- Adept at trading and relationship management, with a track record of business development success
- Strong analytical and decision-making abilities
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Organised and self-motivated, capable of managing a diverse workload
- Prior knowledge of professional indemnity insurance (or an interest in learning) will be advantageous
This role offers a competitive salary of up to £60,000, a generous 10% pension contribution, and an attractive bonus scheme with potential payouts of up to 17.5%.
