About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Respiratory Assistant Technical Officer (ATO) to join our expanding Respiratory Laboratory at Aintree University Hospital.

As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in supporting the diagnosis and treatment of respiratory disorders, working closely with the medical team, admin team, and other clinical physiologists.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform spirometry tests on patients in diagnostic respiratory clinics, with training and supervision.
  • Contribute to maintaining excellent standards of patient care and clinical practice.
  • Assist in more advanced investigations, such as CPET testing, with appropriate training and instruction.
  • Support the wider team in delivering education, instruction, and treatment to patients.
Person Specification

We are looking for an individual with:

  • Previous healthcare experience, preferably within the NHS.
  • Experience of working within a clinical setting.
  • Experience of working with confidential and sensitive information.

Desirable qualifications include an NVQ 3 or equivalent relevant discipline, and an ARTP certificate in spirometry.
