Freelance Interpreter for Public Services

We are seeking skilled Kurdish interpreters to join our team of freelance interpreters. As a Kurdish interpreter, you will work in various settings such as the NHS, Local Authorities, Police, Probation and other public and private organisations. Our company provides professional interpreting and translation services to the public and private sectors across the UK.
What You Will Do:
Your main task as a Kurdish interpreter will be to interpret for people using legal, health and local government services. This involves listening to, understanding and memorizing content in the source language and reproducing it into the target language with 100% accuracy. You will also check the non-English speakers understanding after each sentence and liaise between the service user and service provider.
Requirements:
To succeed in this role, you must be aged 21 or over, fluent in Kurdish and English, and have the right to work in the UK. A Diploma in Public Service Interpreting (DPSI) or a degree in Translation/Interpreting/Languages is desirable. You must also have excellent communication skills and be able to deal with highly confidential information.
Salary:
The salary for this position is £25,000 - £35,000 per year, depending on experience. This is a self-employed position, so you will need to manage your own finances and taxes.
