Swimming Instructor Job Description

About the Role:

  • Provide group and private swimming lessons to learners of all ages and abilities.
  • Liaise with the Swim Supervisor to ensure that all learners are placed in the appropriate swim session for their ability and personality.
  • Host and attend presentations and award ceremonies recognizing learner achievement.
  • Carry out pool supervision at peak times or as required.
  • Support the Pavilion team in managing the flow of swimmers through the club to minimize disruption and changing room congestion.

Requirements:

  • Hold a Level 2 Swimming Instruction Certification and maintain a current National Rescue Award for Swimming Teachers and Coaches (NRASTC) qualification and membership of the Institute of Swimming.
  • Teach and operate in line with ASA best practice guidelines.
  • Previous experience in a swimming instructor role.
  • Passion for health, fitness, and providing exceptional service to guests.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with guests and colleagues.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
